What year of the x5 3.0 is the most reliable ? 2) What year/engine gives the best fuel economy ? 3) I average about 50/50 cityhighway , what kind of MPG can I expect from this car ? 4) where there any significant changes thru the E53 production like design? |

I can handle question 2 and 3. If you are even worried about gas prices, you might want to pass on the X5. Not the friendliest vehicle on the old dino oil, but sure is fun as hell to drive

My 2002 3.0 gets ~ 15mpg city, and ~25mpg highway @ 72 mph.
