So, on my cars I always like to take off the chrome emblems; I just think the car look cleaner and slicker to me. I took off my "3.0i" side emblems of very easily. The back "X5" came off easily as well. The problem I have having is removing the hardend stuff from the X that was once the soft glue. I have tried soooo many products to get the stuff off and nothing has worked. I may have to go to the dealer and buy an "X5" emblem and put it back on. I have used: Goo-Gone, Goof-Off, Acetone, Paint Thinner, Rubbing Compound, Scratch-X and rubbing alcohol. Is there anything I haven't tired???? Please HELP. Thanks!
- Eric NOTE: I used very little of each strong solution... My clearcoat it still good, nothing you see Last edited by Eric86Alan; 05-29-2006 at 07:43 PM. |

bug and tar remover is not good to use on your paint... kiss your clear coat goodbye.... use a clay bar.

paint thinner, rubbing alcohol and goo gone will destroy your clear coat.. why would you use that???
Use a clay bar but it might already be too late.Quote:
