Exclamation X5 Emblem Removal
So, on my cars I always like to take off the chrome emblems; I just think the car look cleaner and slicker to me. I took off my "3.0i" side emblems of very easily. The back "X5" came off easily as well. The problem I have having is removing the hardend stuff from the X that was once the soft glue. I have tried soooo many products to get the stuff off and nothing has worked. I may have to go to the dealer and buy an "X5" emblem and put it back on. I have used: Goo-Gone, Goof-Off, Acetone, Paint Thinner, Rubbing Compound, Scratch-X and rubbing alcohol. Is there anything I haven't tired???? Please HELP. Thanks!

NOTE: I used very little of each strong solution... My clearcoat it still good, nothing you see

Try tar removal it will remove it in seconds!

like not bug and tar remover for cars, but just tar remover in general?

I would use bug and tar remover for cars.

paint thinner, rubbing alcohol and goo gone will destroy your clear coat.. why would you use that??? Use a clay bar but it might already be too late.

bug and tar remover is not good to use on your paint... kiss your clear coat goodbye.... use a clay bar.

AHHH! great idea, forgot about that one... it also takes tree sap off of paint without damaging the paint...

isopropyl alcohol does the same thing... and it's only .99 a bottle at the local drug store.
