Unhappy My X5 is stolen

I bought a brand new X5 3.0d and one month later he's gone.
Last week i parked on a parking lot and two hours later when I came there was nothing. The insurance will pay it out and I must buy another Bmw,but I will install alaram or something.Last year in my town was stolen about 24 X5in only three months, the police have found some cars in Serbia.
How is it in the USA,are X5 popular by the car mafia?Does anyone know how can someone start the X5 without the car keys
Sorry about my bed english,I'am new here, and I'am from Europe

Sorry to hear that. Many SUV are being stolen and then are sold at ridiculous price in Roménia, Sérvia and so on.

Look at this one:

This one is in CZ, it´s mention the car is from 2001 and was facelift to 2004 model Doesn´t smell too good. Price seems low for a car with these specs.

Sounds like a stolen to order deal..They are running rampant now..Especially Japanese make SUV/cars...Ive seen some ugly things in my little stint as dealing with cars

..Cars with no VIN's, so they get new registrations as imports, etc....

You think that these parts are stolen?
I heared from some my friends, that the people who work in the germany plant for bmw,are duplicating the X5 keys and then they sell it to the car mafia,i also saw some X5 with broken lock cylinders on the doors, and I think u can drive away the car without the key.

An X5 cannot be "hotwired" without a key programmed for the vehicle.
Trust me. I install car starters and i've tried almost everything to start my X5 without the key .

X5's that are getting stolen are probably being towed to a location then someone somehow programs new keys to work in the vehicle.

Anyway you look at it , someone who works or has worked in a bmw service center is involved.

I wonder if it would be possible to locate your car through the GPS navigation system...........General Motors can track all there vehicles with Onstar

Sorry to hear about your stolen car. I had things stolen out of my car, and I was so mad and upset, feel so violated. So it must be 100x worse to have the whole car stolen! Hope you get another one and enjoy it longer!

I don't know if I should post this here, but what usually happens is that they bust the key lock, and the owner might have a wallet key or valet key inside the vehicle, so they go through everything and hopefully find that key. The only deterrent then is if you set the "code" function on your OBC, or from your nav screen... that's how I got away from having those ba$tards take my X5 back in Jan of 05 ...
