A/C on/off

OK Eric, here's a new post for you:

Am I the only one that it drives absolutely crazy that there is no on/off switch for the A/C. Pain in the ass to have to lower the fan speed to shut off.

NO!!!! Drives me nuts!! The whole air conditioning/heat system drives me nuts in this vehicle! I hate how I have to "tell" the system if I want A/C or not OR the vents if I want cold air or hot air! It should know which system it needs by the temperature I set it to--JUST LIKE MY 1997 GRAND CHEROKEE DID!!!!!!

I know, not the best A/C system. In our Acura never have to bother with it. Do you have the snow flake button on?

Yes I do, I know HOW to operate it but think it's a stupid set up. I should be able to put it on/off without jerking around with the fan speed. Winter isn't too bad because I always have the fan speed on the lowest setting. Summer however, with the A/C cranking, it's a pain in the ass.

I got used to the "set it, forget it" climate system in my Explorer so I agree having to fiddle with everything is a pain.

Old School, here...
I run all the cars on "manual": vent on when coolish and,
hit the a/c when hot.

My very low tech solution; not an "auto HVAC" fan.

I am so glad someone else is irritated by this! I thought I was being picky.

That doesn't bother me at all. What does bother me is that I can't get the nav monitor to stay off, i.e. if it's off when you turn the car off it turns on again on the next start up...
