AUX input directly to BM54 in spare tire area?

Group,

Can anyone discuss how to plug in the AUX input adapter directly to the BM54 radio module in the spare tire area? I haven't taken it apart yet, but I bought the AUX input designed to plug directly into the radio as opposed to being spliced into the harness in the glovebox area.

I've searched the archives and can't seem to find a write up on this.

Thanks,
Chris

It will plug right into the radio module, which looks like the diagram in this article. If there is an existing connector there then you may need to transfer existing pins from the current one and the AUX connector you have into a single connector. Just keep things pin-for-pin and it should be very straightforward.

UCREW...Thanks, as always...Question: I know the AUX input adaptor plugs into one of the bottom 10-pin bays in that picture...The question is, which one? The left one or the right one?

I'm guessing the right one since it references TV/AUX...But I just want to be sure?

You should see 2 small plugs, one is black and one is white. You'll be dealing with the black one (pins 3, 4 and 10)

Small black plug: x13649 plug
Pin No. / Wire Color / Function
1 / Tape left +
2 / Tape left -
3 / Left Connection for AUX Input
4 / Right Connection for AUX Input
5 / NAV / TV Audio +
6 / White-Black / Phone audio + Positive
7 / Tape right +
8 / Tape right -
9 / No connection
10 / AUX Input Ground
11 / NAV / TV Audio +
12 / Brown-Black / Phone Audio - Groundv
