putting M3/M5 side fender grills on an X5?

Has anyone seen or thought of putting either the M3 or M5 side fender grills on an X5. I have a black 4.8 and I was thinking of getting it done bc I think it would look great. I am not for sure I want to cut into my ride, but just wanted to see what you guys think.
thanks

I've seen a couple of KIA SORENTOS with M3 grills, X5 badges and BMW roundels and that looks WRONG!!!
If you like it go ahead and do it, it's your car and your ride should reflect your taste I wouldn't put grills on my X but that's just me...

I mean it is almost like putting a 4.8 kit on a 3.0.... I understand where you all are coming from...don't try to make your car something it is not huh?

I don't think it's that. I think it's that it will look out of place. Personally, I wouldn't do it. It would be a blemish on the side of an otherwise clean looking X5. There also isn't really a great place for it to go on an X5. The only spot on the fender where it could fit is too high up so the grille would look uncentered.

Besides, do you want it too look like an Escalade? Anyway, it's your X5 so do what you think will look good.

Wink

Actually I also thought about something like that, especially after I saw a pic of an X5 (that's floating around here somewhere) from a guy in Russia (I think) who had it done. If you like it do it!!! I would, then again, nobody here seems to like my mods "they make my X5 look cheap" !!!

Lots of folks put the 4.6/4.8 kits on their 3.0's and 4.4's and most folks think that's OK - I certainly do. I say go for it! I think it's a cool idea and I'd love to see the results!!!
