Very interesting find. The thing that strikes me is that the side lenses don't match the inner ones. The crystal clear part clashes with the more reflectorized lense. Maybe it's those photos or maybe that particular version. This picture from the link powers1 provided shows a more uniform clear on both pieces which looks better, IMO.

These lights are a little to ricey and JDM-ish for my taste.

However, it's interesting to see that the mfg has enabled the red lamp on the body mounted tail lamps. Are these lamps functioning as brake lights or fog lights?

The two articles in the X5world home page refer to enabling these as rear fog lamps. Has anyone tapped into the brake light circuit to use these two unused bulb outlets on the OEM tail lamps as an additional set of brake lights? It might be an interesting and cheaply done project that could change the appearance of the OEM tail lamps.

I tried sorting through the WDS diagrams - it's going to take some work to match the WDS diagrams with the OEM parts diagrams to find out what's what. I'm definitely willing to give it a shot, but I'm going to need some advisors.

Will these still work with the staged braking (for want of a better dicription) ie. when braking normally only one set of brake lights come on, but when braking hard such as an emergency brake then all brake lights come on? I suppose it should as it's the same wiring being used but would like to be 100% sure.

That was a concern for me as well. I didn't want the ricey look, but after seeing the pics posted on the previous page, I don't think it will look ricey.

Yeah, the resemblance to the Honda pilot tail light is uncanny.

I wish I read your post before I bought the lights. I guess I can't have my good ole blurry waffled lenses back. Eternal depression it is....

That was my exact thought when I saw those light!

sdogg888, do you have pictures of the light when they are on? Just wondering if those inner foglights (those under the reverse light) are functional?
