The SRT8 that is mentioned looks pretty good from the outside but they really dropped the ball with the interior. It does go like hell though. I ran into one the other day on the expressway and it wasn't pretty. I was able to keep up but that's about it.

The SRT8 is going to need a bit more Mercedes-Benz DNA especially in its interior. The view from the driver seat is dark and claustrophobic, probably because it has much less of a green house as compared to the X5. I felt like I was seeing less of roadway when I drove it - probably from being accustomed to my X. The front and rear seats are also smaller in every dimension and much less comfortable. It's joined rear center exhaust pipe precludes any ability to tow - there's no place for a hitch.

The engine and drivetrain is great - but not enough to offset the SRT8's shortcomings.

And that new Commander or whatever it is- it's not just retro, it's retro ugly. That is a brand new vehicle already in need of a redesign. What was C-B thinking?

i think your 100% right but i would still like to try one, i had a ML55 before the 4.8 and that wasnt too bad. Iam not saying i would sell the X but i dont hate the srt8 i like the look better than the cayenne and its $100k less

Well I can understand driving I feel that. The cayenne i dont have a real problem with it, but If i was to ever leave the BMW family I would go back to the ML or maybe a FX45 I driven a FX45 it was great test drive. I just like the look of the X5 better.

I would get a 4.8. IMHO when I drove the MB and pepper I did not like the way they handled. Who cares if you have more power but can't control it.

No other SAV/SUV handles like an XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.

The FX45 is nice, but I don't like the driving position. It makes you feel like you're driving a sports car, not a SUV. No "command" seating. The window sill is up by your neck.

My brother has the FX45 and its really low in the driver seat but a nice driver.....Pretty quick though(almost as fast as my 4.8)...i love holding that over my bro's head

And if your going to spend the money for a turbo S....just grab a Ferrari 360 Modena
