Turbo X5

Has anyone done any research on a turbo for a 3.0 X5? Here's a source I found with many different options...

I'm sure it would be depending on what stage turbo you go with. At some point though an upgrade of internal engine parts would be required. Anyone here have a turbo X5??? If not, I may be the first!!! I'll research it.

You will need to upgrade a lot of engine parts as well, I think. It would be interesting to see how many more ponnies the turbo gets you

wouldnt it be wiser to just buy a 4.4 and sell the 3.0?

4.4 is much faster than the 3.0.

How much is a turbo going to cost w/ installation?

But other things come into play such as 4.4 gets worse gas mileage unless you get the 04+.

But yeah my friend's 330ci was turbo'd and it was a beast. Imagine turboing the 3.0 on the x5.

I owned a 600hp 300zx years ago. Turbos are a very tough custom install if you want it done correctly. Lots of custom plumbing, waste gates, intercoolers, Blow-off Valves, bigger injectors,Boost controller etc.. Even when installed getting the right A/F and making the engine strong enough to hold the boost will cost mula $$$. You'd be better off getting a supercharger, they are more reliable and easier to set-up and upgrade. Just my 2 cents

Ok I`m probably going to look really thick here but doesnt the X5 3 already have a turbo? Are you talking about an upgrade turbo here?
