Fasle Alarm... need some advice.
- Alarm goes off at random times. - Only happens in the daytime (never at night) - If I shut off zone 2 by pressing the key a second time I don't get a false alarm. If you don't know what I am refferring to, it is when you press the button a second time, when locking, the clown nose lights solid for a second or so. This, second pressing, dissables the tilt, and outside zones alarm i believe. In any case, it seems to stop the false alarm. So... I was wondering what sesors are still active inside when the zone 2 is shut down? Maybe someone has gone through this and has some starting spot for me to check. Thanks for the help

You are turning off the interior sensor when pressing the button the second time. Seems that your interior sensor is causing the false alarms.

![]() One other consideration is the hood sensor. My alarm system used to also go off at random times as well. Once I disconnected the hood sensor 3 years ago, I've never had a false alarm since. Jeff

Hey Jeff where is the hood sensor? I will try that first and move on from there. Seems the easiest.

Not optimal, but it works for me. This worked for me too. The alarm's hood sensor is located under the hood on the passenger side near the windshield. Just disconnect the connector.

Seems as if I would have had an alarm by now, so I am guessing that might have done it (knock on wood) but, why does that cause it? Bad hood switch? Fault in the system ?

I wouldn't disconnect the hood sensor, your lights are more desireable to a thief than the entire car...

I had the same problem. Glued a spacer at the contact point on underside of the hood to make the plunger go further in. Problem seems to be solved.
