US spec 3.0 X5 tested on autobahn !!!
)) Once in Poland and Russia, I slowed down due to narrow roads and consumption got much better. Handling of X5 is amasing at high speeds, I am glad with my choise of SUV.

I have not driven the manual X5 but i think the RPM should not be that high for that speed. can any other member with a manual X5 comment on this

See I love that vehicle message center because it doesn't say door ajar it shows you the door and headlights etc, I had it on my M3 and loved it, this one on mine (premium vehicle message center) is not as good in my opinion. On a side note i'm jealous of your speed

I'm afraid he is correct. I get about 133MPH @ those RPMs.

Possibly a slipping clutch, but there's still 500+ to go before redline and fuel cut-off.

I thought all X5 3.0i after 2004 got a 6-speed manual.....
I know gearing is quite tight on the X5........I've heard many magazines say the manual isn't as easy to use as in most BMWs due to a rather abrupt clutch engagment point. Plus a 5.13 1st gear ratio paired to a 4.10 final drive must be a pain to start off in! |

Yes, I've hit 125 mph on an empty stretch of I-15 on the way Vegas....
