HD Radio

So I've been hearing a lot of buzz about HD Radio. Does anyone know anything about it? I hear it's got a lot more radiostations at a lot better reception and the best part is it's free, all you have to get is an HD Tuner. Is there one for X5?

Kenwood and Directed Electronics had the jump start on the HD Radio. We will have to see what ICElink comes up with. For the time being I will stick with Stern on Sirius!

Put money completely aside.

How is HD Radio better than satellite radio?

One interesting tidbit on HD radio. Most of the stations broadcasting it are doing so at around 10% of their normal power. This creates problems picking it up and having radios switching between analog and digital.

Clear Channel is pushing HD Radio pretty heavily as their answer to satellite. Time will tell.

We have a BMW-specific integrated solution coming shortly. Stay tuned.
