June 2006 X Series Sales Report

June sales of the BMW X3 and X5 Series totaled 4,484 units, down 24.5% from the 5,936 sold last June. YTD sales of the X Series were also down 8.4% when compared to the first 6 months of 2005.

For those of you who are interested Mercedes-Benz sold 6,283 trucks this month thanks to the addition of the R Class and GL Class that were not available last June. For the half of 2006 sales of MB trucks are up 97.9% when compared to the same period of 2005. Of the 29,540 MB trucks sold thru June, 2006, over half (50.5%)were the new R Class and GL Class.

Please note that I report only United States sales data.

Do they really consider the R-class a truck?

Looks more like a station wagon to me.
