Air Suspension - How does it work
Can anyone explain to me how the air suspension works and what the major components are? It appears that replacing the ride height sensors has had no effect on the body roll. I am thinking that it feels like a defective rear sway bar on a standard car as it wants to 'tip in' to a corner and heaven forbid a high speed change of direction. My understanding is the air susp is 'active' and pumps up the loaded corner. Is that right? The car is going back to the dealer to have the engine opened up and further investigate the detonation, as well as sort out the suspension. In the meantime the tech is (very helpful) doing what he can to figure out what the difference is between a test 4.8 that handles well, and mine that wants to drive like it understeers, rolls etc

I thought only 5, 6's & 7's have Dynamic Drive...
I didn't know any X5's shipped with it. Air suspension should only regulate the height of the vehicle - not body roll (like Dynamic Drive does)... |
