I also read somewhere here that the cup holder can just be yanked out....well before i try yanking it out...wanna check what your success is at this? thanks franklin |

They actually told me that it had become such a common problem with X5's that each dealership has a new replacement that can be clicked in without removing the cup holder. It took like 30 minutes for them just to click them in.
They are not of the same quality as the originals; a little smaller and less quality. I will take a pic later. |

You mean they have replacement clips that simply just click back in without having to remove and replace the entire cup holder, thus without needing to remove the entire center console?

I had my cup holders replaced under my cpo for this same reason. My service advisor said that if it was not covered, it would cost $600 to replace!!! Crazy.
