There will be a big difference in how quickly the A/C blows cold air depending on whether or not the vehicle is parked indoors or outdoors. I go to Vegas frequently, and I've noticed that my A/C takes longer to generate cold air when parked outside in the sun (especially in 115% heat). All of the air conditioning components are heated as is the air contained in the plumbing. It will take awhile to get cold air out of the vents. Once it does, it should blow cold.

My X5 has the best air conditioner of any vehicle I've owned, better than a few other Bimmers I've owned. No complaints whatsoever.

kewl x5 thanks for the post. I had the same problem with my a/c when car comes to a stop or while sitting on traffic... will stop blowing cold air. True enough it was a faulty aux. fan causing the problem. It is a great relief especially while stuck in traffic.

Well I couldn't find the answer to my problem through a search so here goes

01 4.4i X5
Problem: NO cool air coming out of vents on hot days.

There is a low whirling sound when the AC comes on. On hot days only hot air blows out. On cool days cold air blows out. Temp is set to 60. Do I need to get a recharge or do I need to get something else fixed.
Thanks
