Agreed. I checked ZoomTT's white X5 4.4 at Bimmerfest and the heat shield for the 4.4i and 3.0i are made of the same material.

The only thing I think the Valvetronic engine needs is a quicker throttle response at the lower RPM speed.....but your mid-range torque is nice and meater and I like how you can cruise at 65 mph with even lower revs vs. the 3.0i automatic.

I think they really did a great job of shielding the filter from the engine heat and also getting cold air from the grille. So far so good and will see how it performs over the next little while.
