Recall for 2004 4.4 and 4.8

I returned home Friday night from 5 weeks on the road so sorry if this has already been discussed. I did a search and did not find such a thread.

I received the recall notification on my 04 X5 4.4. Anyone know about this recall "BMW Voluntary Emissions recall campaign to replace crankcase ventilation valves on N62 engines"? The campaign number is 06E-A02

I live in OK where the emission laws are not strict as CA, et al. Would this "repair" cost power or would everything be okay?

Thanks.

Do the repair, no sense in putting off a recall item. My dealer did it for me when I was having the brakes done, no cost.

I didn't see a build date in my letter, just 2004.

Get the repair (It's free plus helps the enviornment). Why wouldn't you get it?

The question for me is if I loose something. On a previous car, when I lived in CA in order to bring emissions up to code I was going to loose power or gas mileage or both.

The repair took about an hour, and I didn't notice any difference afterwards. In Cali., the repair is mandatory or else the DMV can refuse to register your vehicle, so no choice here anyways.

I didn't receive a letter regarding this. I wonder if it's a US only thing?
