I never have, but this is one of the reasons that I have it mounted under the CD changer in the back, so I can take it out very easily. As I understand it, warranty coverage cannot be denied unless it can be proven that the aftermarket part (in this case the S1), is causing the problem. ie: a bad power seat motor did not go bad because of an S1 installation. I would imagine, however, that any defect connected to the I-Bus, could be a problem if an S1 was present.

I ended up mounting it in the headliner. It was really easy, but to remove it quickly, I have to remove the nav unit to get to the ibus connection(about 3 mins to remove). I just didn't want to route any wires from back to front as I did this with my ice>link and it was a bit of a pain. What you said about the warranty makes sense. Thanks

I never had any issues with the S1 installed in my X5.
