Newbie with Mod question.

Hello everyone. First of all, I'm a newbie to this forum looking for some advice. I've scoped this forum out for a week now and it seems to be informative.

I just bought a 2006 Jet Black X5 3.0, tan leather, premium package, cold package, rear climate package, xenons.

I was thinking about painting my front grill and air vents the titanium color like I saw in one of the other posts. Has anyone done this yet and how did it turn out.

Also, what is involved in the preparation before paint. Would I have to sand down, polish, etc. my existing black grill and vent?

Thanks guys and I look forward to hearing any advice/feedback.

I appreciate it. I plan on doing several mods.
Rims, exhaust, tit grills/vents, tints and anything else that will make the X5 turn heads. Nothing too bling bling for me though.

maybe instead of painting them, you can swap them out. I'll check if your bl.grille will fit in mine and if my ti. grille will fit in yours..

maybe. If painting them really isn't a prob, I'd rather do that. Much easier. But if it is a lot of trouble, maybe a trade is in order. It's an 06.

Since its an 06, you may wanna go to the dealer and plunk down for a new set (trading was just a suggest.). It will be a much cleaner look as it was done by BMW. Plus now you have two sets in the event you wanna go back to black....

That's good advice and I may do that.

Has anyone done a "tit grill/vent self-paint" mod though? I just wanted to know how well it turned out and the process involved.
