both are great radar detectors but the V1 arrows is what pulled me in. And after you dodge one cop, it pretty much pays for itself.

it comes with suction cup mount and visor mount, you can use either, the higher in the car the better. I have it direct wired into my rearview mirror on my vette, but use the cigarette lighter adapter in the x.

I hardwired mine into the HomeLink garage door buttons and have it mounted via suction cup at the top of the windshield. Have a StealthOne installed as well. Love it!!

A few people have created some great custom installs, either using the rear headrest, or other 'stealth' solutions. Some of the info is on X5World, other info can be found searching the archives at RF & BF.

I have the Passport and it works very good. Only regret that it does not have a stealth-one integration. I bought from www.crutchfield.com .

Mounting My V1

First - V1. The arrows are addicting.

As far as where to mount - I have mine suction cupped on the passenger side of the rear view mirror at the top of the glass.

Here's the kicker... I walked into my service tech at my BMW service center and said, "How much to direct wire a V1 into my overhead switched power source?" His reply was $30. All I see is this thin 3" telephone wire coming from my liner directly to my detector. It's virtually invisible and installed by a PRO who knows how to direct-wire without screwing up my brand new X5's liner.

V1 $407 (delivered)
Hardwire $ 30
Always driving my X like I stole it: PRICELESS
