Door Sills for X?

My friend yesterday was detailing his e46 m3. And to show me how clean his interior was, he opened the door, and the first thing i noticed were his super clean and shiny M3 door sills.

Now I quickly came home last night, and got to washing my X, and as i was doing the interior. I noticed how PLAIN AND BORING my car looked as u opened the door, because it had no door sills, just a plastic "strip"

Is there any mod, or any X5's out there with BMW or any door sills.. at all.

I, too, have sought these sills, but can't find them for the X5 anywhere. I would be delighted to find some, too.

I'm not sure that I get it. What do these sills look like - what makes them special? Please post pics of these M3 sills.

I searched a bit too but didn't come up with anything. I'd really love something that says "X5" or "BMW X5" and lights up, but the X5 door sills are very skinny...

Door Sills

You can find the doors by AC Schnitzer, Hamann and BMW on Ebay.

I think I have seen it once on ebay. Have you seen 5-series illuminated sills? AC Schnitzer has X5 door sills.

There is only one dealer selling the ACS and Hamann sills tonight, when I do a quick search for "BMW door sills". I don't see any that say just BMW or that light, that will fit the X5. If you see some that do, please share the link.

As far as the ones that are on there, I am hesitant to get them without some sort of better photos or description. The photo of them in place in the X5 is from a distance, so you can't really see how they fit.

Maybe someone else here will take a chance on them, and share with the rest of us what they think?

Be careful with these sales according to the latest AC schnitzer catalogue both hardcopy and on their website. ACS dont sell doorsills for the X5.

Likelihood is these arent genuine, just be aware if you purchase.

Dont know about the other makes.

I too have thought about this since I have bought aftermarket stainless door sills for my ex-Boxster. The problem I see is that the door sill on the X5 is rather narrow and the plastic that is there is tiered, making it more difficult to fabricate a door sill. It's possible for sure.

Check out these ones I had on my Boxster. They were very good quality stainless steel and had a nice Porsche crest on them. If I could find the seller/manufacturer I could hit him up to see if he would make something for X5's.
