Big hump inside Spare Tire Well
So I'm also thinking of redoing my subwoofer location in my X5 and I was wondering about something I found when taking out my spare tire a while ago. When you take out the spare tire, there is a big black hump covering the battery....What is that? Thanks, Dave |

If you have the air suspension, it's the air compressor pump. Otherwise, I think it's just a filler.

4.4i's all have air suspension. 01 3.0i with sport does have air suspension as well. (became an option in 02).

Yep, I definitely plan to get the suspension professionally replaced...I only fool around with non-dangerous parts of the vehicle
