i wanna know this too.

Seems like they are. Because when i got my DPE wheels from an x5 owner that had them on his 2001 x5. When i put them on my car, i had to get the hub centric rings, because it seems like the wheel did not sit flush with my hub.

The front hub are in fact different, I have no idea about what wheels fit what, but hubs have a split at 03/00. Early hubs are 31 20 6 756 166 and use a smaller bearing 31 22 1 095 702 (45x85x41) late hubs are 31 20 6 756 256 and use a larger bearing 31 22 6 751 978 (49x90x45). I Dont have any offset info here, but that might also be different due to the larger hub and bearing assembly.

I was told by AFS wheels that if I was to purchase their wheels and my X5 was 2001 or older, that I needed hubrings. But then I see other people saying their wheels will fit every X5 made. Cleaner do you have a link to real oem? I cannot find the part

The Data I provided came from my work database, I did not look up the details on the ETK, but rest assured it's accurate. I dont know what the different bearing sizes do to wheel fitment, that seems to be the real question here I think.
