f355b: Dont let Hosers on this site get you down. I have to imagine a few of us acknowledged the fact that you were helping and offering your opinion. People just wanna sit behind their keyboards and bang out smart-assed comments. I bet you dollars to donuts a hellava lot of members are trying to access Attractspeed now.

yep its a shame because i remember when the firts post about this item a was posted month or so ago .. at that time they were going for $245 and Jeff even mentioned for one of the members to contact the seller about a group buy for $200, then all the so called experts kinda killed that idea with the "It will not clear the reservoir theory". so then everyone waited for someone to post the pics and now that the pics are posted the item is no longer available.....

wow, this thread went to hell in a handbasket real quick...

f355b, thanks for posting the pix. that cleared up ALOT of things about the bar. it's a better design then the dinan bar (no hinges) and it seems there are no slotted holes so nothing can slide (again, good design).

from a suspension junkie's perspective (not that my opinion means much but), its got my thumbsup (and dinan's never did). overall i like it. however, i would be checking the top 2 screws that holds the bar to the riser mounts often as they are taking the full brunt of forces as the car pushes and pulls on its shock towers. an improvement over that design would be to have the riser mounts and the middle bar all as 1 piece.

as for does it do anything versus is it psychological, have a friend do this for you:

since it only takes 10 mins to install/uninstall, have the friend do the work and NOT tell you what he has done. you jump in and do 2-5 exact same drives. each time, you park, you get out of the car and go somewhere so you can't see if your friend is putting the bar in, taking it out, or doing no changes at all... that way you are 100% impartial to the changes and can only comment on what you felt... you friend would tell you whether or not you can feel the differences...

That's the approach we use on race cars where the driver is constantly trying to tweak the car... we prefer the driver do nothing but drive and leave the pit crew stuff to the pro pit crew ya know?

PS: 2002Silver4.6is, the modern porsches are all designed with shock tower braces that go back to the firewall. this is the preferred designed from an engineering perspective. the aftermarket bars do 100% nothing on the 993, 996, 986 and 997 and 987... proven fact in stress test and pro driver confirmed...

Incidentally, does the strut bar bend down in the center or is it just the pic?
