Google on "AFE Cold Air intake for X5"...you'll find a lot of places that sell the AFE cold air. Honestly, you're wasting your money. You won't see an ounce of difference in performance. I would just get this:

No questions asked. If you can afford a 4.8 than you should definitely be able to afford the Dinan cold air intake, it's the best one out there for your sav.

I have an aFe intake from my 4.8 for sale....filter has about 5,000 miles on it. PM me if interested.
Also, I did notice a smoother acceleration. As for the Dinan CAI, why pay all that money?

14 HP gain and 11 lbs on torque....I know it is not much but it is more. Also I am interested in the Dinan, but is it really at all any better than other intakes out there?

Someone is claiming 14 HP from a intake only? they gonna put that in writing? I'd bet if you dyno the car before and after you would not get anything close to that, I'd even bet you would see no mearusable change. Thats an impressive claim for an air filter.

14HP from an intake? Highly doubtful, maybe 5 would be more realistic. Besides the HP, my gas mileage actually went up by about 2MPG.

That is what the website says....but that might include more than just air intake..... do you all think the K&N filter is a good cheap little mod or is the filter already in the 4.8 just as good?
