Brake light on in dash

So yesterday I notice a red BRAKE light lit up on my dash. Also when I first start the truck, a CHECK BRAKE LINING message comes on for a couple of seconds.

I am setting up an appointment right now. Anyone have any clue what that is........Im guessing pads? Should I replace them with OEM or go for some Axxis Deluxe?

oh man go for the deluxe, they will cost less on your computer then the OEM pads will at BMW, prob WAY less, and the light is yes either your pads rotors or the sensor ( $10 on ebay ) which plugs from ( prob ) the top of your tire wall and goes down into the caliper, if u do brakes, u neeeeed 2 new ones of those, there cheap and easy to fix, i did my own brakes and got the sensors later, had the BMW shop put it in for me when they did the CV's and axle's thought it would be so easy for them to do it while the tire was off, they charged me 34.99 just to PLUG MY part in, bastards, oh well good luck!~! The OEM pads are free from the maintenance program...unless you've already done past 50k miles on your X? I would do the Axxis pads when I can no longer get free brake jobs from BMW. So, unless you got money burning a hole in your pocket or the brake dust is bugging you so bad, I'll would just let BMW take care of it now for free and save the Axxis for later.
