Roof Rail Deletion-Plugs

Recently there were some threads on removal of the roof rails. The problem generally was finding the plugs that would fit and be flush and unobtrusive.
Anyway I found some available on the web that fit perfectly, I have bought and tried quite a few (there only a few pence each) in my search and trust me these are the best fit and flushest looking. I just thought I would share this info.

I colour coded mine with touch up spray from the dealer. The finish is rough but can be fine sanded, you should do this anyway before you paint. Otherwise paint may not take well. Or you can leave them as they come.

I do not suggest these as a permanant option but it allows you to decide if you want to make the mod more permanent by way of filling and spraying or if you just fancy a temporary change for a while, whatever.

Anyway the supplier is Conrad Electronics GMbH - www.conrad-direct.co.uk

The part numbers and designation are:

Hole Stops 76159 - Part No: 523894 ( these are for the small holes on the centre fixing, there is one on each side.) 2x16mm.

Hole Stops 76175 - Part No: 523907 ( these are for the larger holes on the end fixings, there are four each side.) 8x18mm.

One other point to share, if you get these plugs or any other I found the best way to take them out of the hole is to use a plastic banding strip. The kind you get round packaging. The same way its recommended to remove the roundels.
