I just got mine a month ago. I looked at Toureg (dont tell anyone) and Volvo. Let me say this much. I did cost me a fotune because I live in Europe, but what a sweet ride. I got the 3.0d and it hauls serious butt. I cannot think of a single problem or con about it except that I dont have two!! Besides, when I look at the Toureg and XC-90 on the street, I snicker..............

Bozo, must be a pretty damn decent clown to be able to drive a X!

Was it the tricks/makeup/red hair that did it for you? OK OK, but you must tell later.

Cheers,

You want bad....................
Well, your going to be filling her up often, think about that.
You`ll have to refresh my memmory, GB 1.10 per liter? And a 90L tank.......go figure.... I can`t remember right now.

If you are trying to brake land speed records, make sure you have a Road Angel, that the lane you are driving in is wide enough, and that you are very good friends with the Gas station.

Darren,

I'm a sports car guy as well. I am on my second X5.. First I owned the 4.4 now I am in a 4.8is. I love the car.

I have to admit that my porsche sits in the garage a ton. The X5 handles incredibly and the power is perfectly suited for an SAV. The performance difference between a 1997 911 and a 4.8is is not that great.
But that also has a lot to do with the fact that the 911 has 282hp. The 4.8is has 360hp. Of course there is a weight difference and no car brakes or handles like a 911.. But I don't miss it for daily driving..

You will not be disappointed..

And, for the record.. When I can bring my X5 to the track and do some laps.. I will, without a moment of hesitation.. And it will have no problems keeping up with 3 series bmw's, 5 series bmw's, Audi A4's, etc..

B

Because this one can do it all.

I can off road decently, and keep up with sports cars. That's my dream.

Thanks guys,

The petrol in UK where i am is about 88p a ltr works out at just short of £80 to fill it to the top!! But my 340 bhp Impreza takes £40 to fill it and can use it all in about 160 miles with some hard and sensible driving so wont bother me (but might after a while!) I only use the car on a sat afternoon and sunday i take bikes out and at moment we use mates van so mpg is not a big deal, one thing that concerns me is if fuel keeps going up like it does will i be able to sell it? I know there is always a demand for X5's but the demand for the V8 might drop off.

Ive heard that the 3.0i petrol gets the same mpg as the v8 thats why i decided to go for the v8 but now maybe the diesal might be worth thinking about but the performance is not as good then when the 22's go on it will be worse.

Any question i am gunna put 22's on when i get one, so which spec would be better to go for the sport with hard suspension or the SE? With the smaller tire wall the ride will get harder and a hard ride and and cruiser dont go!! Also might end up lowering it so what you think??

How hard is it to lower an X5? Do they just have normal springs and shocks??
