3.0 Manual Mode - Quick shift from 1 to 2??

Whenever I use the manual shift mode, the X seems to shift itself at around 5500 rpms when going from 1st to 2nd, but all other gears go to redline. Is this common??

yea mine does it to. only thing i can think of is its protecting itself.

My X3 automatic kills the fun at 6000rpm in 1st, and sometimes it'll also kill fun in 2nd at 6250rpm (not always). One of the more annoying features...
