Just installed 20" wheels, need help!

I just had a set of OEM 4.6is wheels installed on my 2001 X5 3.0. The thing is that the passanger side rear tire is sticking out or is off. Th driver side rear wheel is tucked under the tire well. The passenger side is out a little, and it looks wierd?? Any ideas why? I am going to the installer tomorrow, but need some advice first. Thanks

You sure you have 10 inch wide rims on both sides of the rear? If you had a 10 on one side and a 9.5 on the other it would look as you described.

The 9.5 go in front and 10.5 in rear.

The 10.5 are in the rear and the 9.5 are in the front.

Then it sounds like 1 of 3 other possibilities.... 1) the wheels have unmatched offsets or 2) one side has a spacer on the hub and other side doesn't. 3) you have unmatched tire sizes mounted on the wheels.

Anything else would probably mean that it's something related to the axle or unibody. You would definitely need to see the $tealer ASAP if that's the case.

Interesting Situation. Keep Us Posted. Good Luck.

are you talking about negative camber maybe? the rear tires will look like they stick out at an angle and not lined up totally vertical.

if this is the case, then that's perfectly normal and one of the many reasons why BMWs perform so well around curves.
