New Owner-new to the forum

Hi guys, Just thought I'd say hi. I just purchased what I later found out was Eric's (Ekaz) 4.8 iS. Really great vehicle. Traded my loaded 05 Touareg w/21" BBS and some other custom stuff for it plus some $$$. As much as I liked the T, this thing just drives nicer, a lot nicer. Eric has been really helpful and we've been trading e-mails. LOt's of great info here. Sadly I need to go back closer to stock w/the exhuast due to work needs (too loud when on the phone and taking customers out so if anyone know where there's a stock 4.8 exhaust for sale let me know. Does anyone know if a 4.6 exhaust is interchangable? Anyway, happy to be here. I was a pretty good contributer on VW Vortex so I hope eventually I can contribute here as well. Cheers!

Congrats & welcome to X5 World. No, the 4.6iS exhaust is not compatible with the 4.8iS. It is a different exhaust setup. Hopefully someone can do a trade.

Welcome to X5world. The 4.8 is an incredible car, your Toureg never had a chance in comparison.

Do you know what is different? I looked at the diagrams on realOEM.com and while you're right the part numbers are different, it looks like it uses the same center resonator and same attachment points...

Actually Ekaz (Eric) said he may have found a nice used one from someone who went w/an Eisenmann on their 4.6is. Believe it or not, the 4.6 is WAY more expensive for the two rear pipes and mufflers than the 4.8 version. Not sure why...but that's why I'm asking if they're interchangable...thanks
