New kid on the block....errr...forum

Hello Everyone. My name is Norvin, and i drive a 2001 x5 3.0i! I actually had this car for almost a month and have been lurking around the forums for a while reading as much as i could. But like any other newbie I still have a few questions.

1. How/where do you find the production date of your x5?
2. My drivers side door lock only unlocks once and a while, from the threads i read it's either the actuator or the cable needs to be greased. Since the door lock only unlocks every so often do you think i need a new actuator?
3. How much am i going to love this forum?

Anyways so far in my past three weeks I cleared out my headlights and put in stealthbulbs, painted my grill, and I installed DICE, well not entirely, i got a bad unit so I had to send it back to them and i'm getting a replacement soon.

Here's some pics of my ride!

I don't own an iPod so i only intend to use my DICE's aux input. So i bought two audio cables and ran it to the front of the car. One male to female (dice to console), and one male to male(console to music player). Since i didn't want the cable to just hang out, i made use of that cone thingy in the front ashtray. Here's the pics.

Mind the dust

Close Up.

Future mods:
-Cleared tail lights and side markers
-4.6 Body kit
-Caught blue handed

1.Don't know for sure about your door lock, but actuators going bad on '01's are common.

2.Prod. date should be on the inside driver's door.

3.Hopefully a whole damn lot, man

Congratulations and welcome. Intermittent problems are the worst kind, try pulling the door panel and check for binding and connectors. Usually intermittent is a bad connection as mechanical problems stay broken. Good luck
