How fast can ur car go?

I was wondering if X5 cuts fuel when reach its govern speedlimit. Anyone had a chance to try?

Most likely does, take yours up to limit and find out. All it will do is bounce around.

my X is governed to 128...it just won't go past it even when kept at full throttle, in steptronic I would still be in 4th gear and the revs just don't climb any more...haven't done it in a while so I can't really remember!

my 01 x5 4.4 and my 98 540i are not governed i had then both up to 240 klm. never complained about it..

The limiter cuts the gas at XXX mph. I heard it's not terribly jerky or anything, but rather the car will stop accelerating.

Most SAVs are limited to ~130mph, the 4.6is/4.8is run ungoverned to 155, and various years of sport packages also are ungoverned.
