Do NOT wait this long though. The oil filter does not last that long though. Most owners on the board go in between those free oil changes at around ~6-7.5k miles to get an oil change; you have to pay for this one, but it's worth it. When you get to ~12k, you'll still get your free oil change. |

Regulars all change the oil at ~7.5. New owners wait to change their oil until 12-15k until they are enlightened
. If you're using a qualtiy oil like M1 or Amsoil, the oil itself will easily last till 15k. Just change the filter at 7.5k and you're good to go another 7.5k from there.
