Question Right A/C vent blowing warm air...

Let's have a little contest here. I'll describe the problem and you see if you can correctly diagnose it. My X5 is at the dealer right now, so I should know the fix later today.

Situation:

A/C only blowing cool air and not cold air out of the "left" vents, while it is blowing warm air out of the "right" vents. Temp controls on the left and right side are set to 70 degrees, outside ambient temperature is 100 degrees. Final stage resistor was replaced about a year ago with the newer unit.

My X5 is a 2002 3.0i BTW. Thank goodness I have an extended warranty with Warranty Direct, so this will be my first claim with them. This will also be a good test to see if WD is worth their weight in salt .

If you have had this same problem, what was your fix?

Clearly, you've got a banana stuck in your duct.

"Are you the man who disabled SuperGreg's air conditioning with a banana in the tailpipe?"

SG: Possibility 1 - Leak in the a/c system and needs a recharge of R134. Possibility 2 - Some a/c components need to be changed, like the compressor, receiver/dryer, and assorted hoses. I had both problems fixed.

P.S. I agree with the banana-in-your-tailpipe theory!

He also "wrecked the buffet and the Harrow Club this morning".

I wonder what scarf he's wearing while trolling in the SL hardtop down so his hair can blow, girlies on standby waiting just to say hi.

OMG. I've gotta stop with these '80's references.

Thank you for understanding and laughing Miss Young Thang.

A couple of scenes from this classic movie:

Police Chief Hubbard: Is this the gentleman who ruined the buffet at the Harrow club this morning?
Lieutenant Bogomil: Yes, sir.
Police Chief Hubbard: I'll just bet that you are the pride of your department in Detroit. Lieutenant, I'd like to see you in your office.
Lieutenant Bogomil: Yes, sir.
Axel Foley: [Mocking Hubbard] Is this the man who... wrecked the buffet at the Harrow club this morning?
Sergeant Taggart: Lower your voice, for Christ's sake!
Axel Foley: What, can the guy here me through the wall?
Sergeant Taggart, Detective Rosewood: Yes, he can.
[Detectives Foster & McCabe nod in agreement]

Axel Foley: What are you all, the second team?
Detective McCabe: We're the first team.
Detective Foster: Yeah, and we're not going to fall for a banana in the tailpipe.
Axel Foley: [Mocking him] You're not going to fall for the banana in the tailpipe? It should be more natural, brother. It shouldflow out, like this - "Look, man, I ain't fallin' for no banana in my tailpipe!" See, that's more natural for us. You been hanging out with this dude too long.

The other line, blame on this guy.

Okay, I'm done now.
