Smile Keylees entry fob's

Just got my first X5 with one ketless fob wanting to buy new one on ebay can anyone tell me what the 3 series of numbers on the back of the key mean :- FCCID LX8 FZV, DOC/MDC 267K 1268, BMW 377 809.9 and what is important when purchasing a new keyless fob for my X5

These numbers should match on both keys, the one you have and the other you want to buy.

I presume he means a key without the metal key bit.. Just the fob..
I have a spare which I programmed to work with the car, I have used it a couple of times, when my wife went out with both working keys..

Bluetooth, comms pack, sat nav, sports pack, sports seats, dimming mirror, electric folding mirrors, memory seats, heated seats.

Exactly... To ym knowledge, all X5's have the classic plastic with the metal key sticking out. Only cars I've seen with fobs are 7 series, and 2006+ vehicles, not including X5's. How would you program a key fob to work?

Thankyou insofmarine for the info, yes keyless fob as in no metal key sticking out of it. As my wife also had both in her handbag a spare fob will be handy. Cheers.
