Thumbs up Winter tires - Toronto, Canada

Guys,

I have a 2001 4.4 x5 sport/premium. Right now have 19" summer tires on, looking ahead at the winter...

Does anyone have a set of winters for sale (tires/rims)? I'm looking for 17" or max 18" tires, bmw stock rims (or something similar). My previous 328i had Pirelli Icesport tires - those performed very well. Are there other brands for x5?

Please let me know if anyone in Toronto has winters for sale or knows of a good place for used winter tires for x5..

thanks,

motordavid has a set for sale....still
I have 2 sets for sale (don't ask)
Unfortunately I thinking shipped to your neck of the woods would make it not worth it.

I would buy a set of 17" rims off of tirerack or similar site and then get a set of 235/65/17 Nokian Hakka's. No better snow tire out there

Have you checked with a local BMW dealer?

I know it seems crazy, but BMW Canada sells a limited number of winter wheel/tire sets to Cdn dealers for prices that are very good IMO. I was able to purchase a set of 4 Pirelli Ice & Snow tires mounted and balanced on 4 18" BMW style 74 wheels for CAD$2900 (which included mounting on the X5). This was a great deal compared to most aftermarket alternatives I was looking at...and this is for an OE 18" wheel.

Damn that's still a lot of dough! I 'll sell him my new set with OEM rims perfect for less than half of that. Even shipped to Canada, it won't come close to $2900 cad.
