Slipping and Sliding in my Toyo's

We had our first rain yesterday and while driving in my Toyo's (3000 miles on them) and my 20", I was slipping and sliding through a pretty tight cloverleaf turn. This is my first experience with this setup in the rain and was not too happy about it. My Michelin's with 18" wheels felt much better through this turn in the rain before. I am hoping that this is because it's the first rain and the roads are more slippery. I will wait and see, makes me want to put my 18" back for the winter!

Michelin's with 18" is what I have and the way I drive i need all the grip i can get. Driving in SF you should have shoes that have as much grip as possible.

Might just be all the nasty oil on the roadway coming up after the first rain.

..my Toyo's are perfectly fine in rainy wet weather....I've always had slippage issues with Michellins even in sunny weather on 2 previous cars as well, Michellins are just garbage imo

Of course that's part of the reason. The other part is people with small cars thinking they can hit puddles of water at 70MPH. The result of course is CRASH.!!!!!! WOT HOOPIN. (That was on the news last night)

Since you have 20" wheels, most likely you also have wider wheels/tires than your 18" wheel setup. Wider tires are more likely to hydroplane. Possibly the Toyo tread is not as good as getting rid of water....Anyhow, take it easy....it still could have been the first rain effect with the dirt/oil on the road.
