Fixed! - How to pull out Fog lights (step 1 of DYI is unclear)

Quote:
1. Remove (carefully pull out) plastic cover.
I'm reading the above line from this front page guide: http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/l...bs-bmw-x5.html

The plastic covers on my 4.4i '04 are recessed and it's unclear how to pull them out. Anybody have any ideas?

thanks!

The plastic cover around the fog light just pulls out. At the top inside edge next to the lens there's a cutout you can fit a finger into. Start pulling from there carefully but firmly, and then as an edge starts to pop out, use your other hand to help it. It's pretty easy - shouldn't take more than 10-15 seconds to pop it off. After that, there are two phillips head screws around the bottom of the lens to remove, and then the light will come right out. GL!

Yep..there's 2 screws you need to remove, then insert your hand in there and gently and firmly pull on it until it pops out. Doing it gently is key tho otherwise you'll scratch up your fingers and it hurts!

The cover needs to come off first - then the screws...

Yeah...I found it and pulled it out. Now I have to get some white H11s. Thanks so much!

I just bought a set of Xenesis Tru-Match H11's here a week or so ago. So far I like 'em - just about the same whiteness as the headlights and noticeably brighter. They're also on sale right now...

I ordered the Hoen yesterday already since a lot of posted were mentioning it...$29 not on sale...http://www.hoen-usa.com/fog.htm...I emailed them and they emailed me back on a saturday within a few hours so the support looks good...

I've read that bulbs coated in blue are "cheaper" (Silvania silverStars) since they cut a lot of the light and the Xenesis look blue. I don't think the hoen's are blue.

Anyways as long as they look xenonish that's awesome X5Jay. thanks for the website link...that store looks nice.
