just finished clearing and delensing x5 headlights

hey,

just spent the last hour workin on a set of x5 headlights. Denlensed and cleared the amber out. The porjectors look pretty beastly. Im trying to thinkin of something creative to do to that corner. The chrome bothers me. Maybe spray it, black out the amber? not sure yet. Ill get pics up soon

Hey Mike I have an idea for you with the corners. This is going to make me confess something so here it goes. When I did my angel eye install last week a small amount of the black glue got onto the corner of my light. When something like this happens I reach for my Goo Gone Painters Pal. This usually takes glue off of everything. As soon as the Goo Gone touched the chrome on the corner it left a black spot. The more I rubbed the blacker it got. Since I really wanted a clear look and did not want to put the amber back in I took a towel and carefully rubbed the Goo Gone until the entire corner was black. I did the same thing on the other side, and It looks great. Just be carefull because you don't want the solution to get on any other part of the chrome. Here is a picture. At the bottom of the corner it looks shiney, but that was just due to the angle of the picture.

wow good job!

i was actually thinkin abou ttaking a piece side piece of the ambe reflector and blacking it out. Just liek that!

I admit also i got a small big of gue on the refelctor too. i got most of it out. However it looks like even the factory did a bad job at keeping these chrome pieces clean.

did you black the actual chome or the orange lense?

Thanks for the compliment. That is the actual chrome. The lenses are still amber. I would also put my vote in for doing angel eyes. You have already done the hard part. I would have been happy with just the clear look, the angel eyes are the BONUS.
