Question Spark Plugs?

Anyone here running with different spark plugs other than the standard ones? If so what type and any noticable differences?

I seem to remember somebody trying NGK plugs and getting good results. Apart from those OEM seems to work OK.

NGK are the OEM plugs. I have tried the Bosch 4 platinum. They are sitting in my tool box after 4000 miles. If you have see the thread on trouble starting I detail why I took them out. End result they do no better or worse than the OEM plugs. I can't speak for how long they last though. Probably not 100k; but, at Half the price 75k is a bargain.

I tried Bosch Platinums in my father's Audi 100 when they first came out. They were back in their boxes within 20 minutes. The car would not even start. 5 plugs were returned to Bosch for refund.

Confusing.
German Truck, German Engine, German Ignition and German Fuel Injection. Likes Japanese Spark plugs better than German ones

My guess is that BMW selected the best spark plug they could find.

With today's engines, run by computer, any change could confuse the computer and result in reduced performance.

Yeah NGK is the standard plug in my 4.6 anyway so I'll stick with that!
