What dash stuff lights up?

On my new used 4.8is I've noticed that the steering wheel buttons don't light up and neither do the vent adjuster bottons when you have the headlights on. Just wondering other than the speedo/tach/dot disply and the radio/nav what if anything should be lit when the lights are on?

I'd be a little more patient when waiting for an answer ..... Seems like you only waited an hour ... sometimes it takes longer to get a reply.

To answer your question, yes the steering wheel buttons light up when the lights are on (at least on my 01 it does).

When you refer to the vent controls, do you mean the HVAC digital control panel above the heated seats buttons, or the actual knob that open/close the vents? If you're referring to the knob that moves up and down, no those don't light up, but if you're referring to the HVAC control panel, all the buttons on that panel should light up.

steering wheel buttons light up, if they dont check a fuse?

All the buttons in the center of my dash light up

the only thing that does not light up is the A/C vent slider (the thing u slide next to each vent). Also the slider that has the red and blue dots does not light up.

Thanks guys..you confirmed I have an issue cause mine are dark. Is there an on/off switch for this by chance? My Touareg had a button to have the wheel lit or dark. Sorry about my impatience....just was a little anxious as I'm getting ready to take my new to me 05 4.8 in for service and I've found a few things, keep noticing a few more. Appreciate the feedback. Let me know about if there is a way to turn on/off. Thanks

no .. the only switch to dim the interior lights would dim your entire dashboard, not just the steering wheel.

good luck!!
