engine failure program
having a few dramas with the X5. Started with an orange engine light with was diagnosed as a fault air flow meter. this was changed but within a minute of driving "engine failure program" lit up with no power and had to limp home. any ideas? very frustrating as went in with one problem which was still drivable, but now another problem and not drivable. any help would be appreciated. thanks Frank |

Sounds like you you went into "fail safe" mode. Check all the connections under the hood. Especially the MAF and Throttle position. Try turning the key #2 position for ten secs, then off for ten secs then start.
Need more info. How many miles? Is the idle smooth or rough? Will the RPMs go up or do they hang down low? |

Print out this 37 page training manual. Its goes into detail on the engine failure program. Specifically pages 18,20,23&24. |
