Just installed new Running boards purchased off ebay.

It took less than twenty min. to install these new running boards purchased off of ebay. I realize that they do not have any purpose other than improving the look of my X5 but did I really want to pay over $700 to get BMW running boards when all I wanted was an updated look. I paid $370 with shipping for these.

I hope everyone likes the new look.

Did it come with with a set of wheel arches? From your picture seems like the end of the aluminum running boards are exposed... It shouldn't be that way...

No, it did not, but that is something I am looking into.

why are the ends of the running board exposed?

I would return it to the seller on ebay or file a claim with paypal/credit card company. Item not as described.

who sold these to you? I am going to buy mine off ebay too.

They had some that did not go over that far but I did not like the look. These are the way they are supposed to be. I knew what I was getting when I purchased them. They look better in person than they do in the pics. I added a current listing from ebay to my original post from the guy who sold them to me. They came from Taiwan via air-mail. They arrived within 4 days after payment was made. I was very impressed with that.

Nice job. Incidentally, did your replica running boards include the installation hardware? I ask because I got my replicas from eBay as well and I had to buy the hardware separately. They're a little different from yours though.

Yes, all the mounting hardware was included but there were no instructions of any kind. Not that they needed any, only a fool could mess these up.

you know after looking at your pictures again I think I like the running boards you got.

At first I thought the ends were standing out but when I looked closely I saw that they were next to the black trim as if they are attached to it.

Hmm.. I like. Thumbs Up.

Thanks, it is a different look that is for sure but it does look nice in person. It does not stick out as far as you might think.
