I sow perspective on BMW settings after 10 seconds pressed MENU and activeted, but i can't see on map menu like this:

My car is BMW X5 3.0d of 2004 and i have last Os version V28 with DVD navigation system NAVTEQ 2006-02.

I hope that somebody can help me.

I hope you have a pen and paper.

1-Key in ignition (car on or position 1, doesn't make a difference).

2-Press the menu button on your navigation screen.

3-Select the settings menu.

4-In the settings menu (where you set up time/date, etc...) hold the menu button for about 15 to 20 seconds.

5-Step 4 will take you to a seperate menu. In this new menu you need to scroll all the way to the bottom of the screen until you see an option called perspective. Select it.
6-In this perspective sub menu you have the option to turn it on or off. Set it to on and the perspective option should show up just like it is in the picture.

Of course this is assuming that you have V28 or a modified ealier version installed.
EDIT: Just read the part where you said you had V28 installed.

Hope this helps,
Best of luck.

I am not sure if this helps but does perspective mode work in Split Screen mode. I thought it only worked in full/widescreen mode. I have not tried it myself that way I just thought I remembered reading that. I know it works in full screen mode and your photo in in split screen mode.

That is not his screen in the pic. But the perspective mode does work in split screen mode. The pic that he posted is in split with the perspective view.

I just put mine into pespective mode..looks great but now these are no road names showing..would a later version of Nav software make any difference? I have an 05 4.8is but the disc is not the original, it's a burned copy so I don't really know what version I have. Is there a way to tell?

It's correct, in pespective mode, Street names won't show, it's mostly for looks, does look great.

Unless you upgraded to MK4 DVD Nav on your 01 X5(stock is MK3 CD unit), you won't get perspective mode on a CD based unit.
