October 2006 X Series Sales Report

October sales of the BMW X3 and X5 Series totaled only 3,356 units, down 5.3% from the 3,543 sold last October. YTD sales of the X Series were also down 16.2% when compared to the first 10 months of 2005.

For comparison Mercedes-Benz sold 6,241 trucks this month thanks to the addition of the R Class in September, 2005 and the GL Class this April. For the first 10 months of 2006 sales of MB trucks are up 84.5% when compared to the same period of 2005. Lexus also sold 9,633 trucks this month and a total of 112,512 for the first 10 months of 2006. Note that this total is 2.35 times the total sold by BMW and is 2.10 times the total sold by Mercedes-Benz so far this year.

Please note that I report only United States sales data.
