To Align or Not to Align

I just got BMW wheels style 132 (5 star) 20" staggered and I was wondering if I need alignment since I upgraded to bigger wheels.

I read somewhere in this forum that someone had rubbing on their rear tires or some type of problem using Toyo Proxes and that's what I am using now.

275/40 R20's FRONT
315/35 R20's REAR

By the way, do you guys think I should lower my ride? I know some of you guys have lowered your X5s but from my past experience, lowering rides have always made the ride even stiffer than it is now. If you recommend lowering, what springs is best suited for X5s and how much are they? I don't have height adjustment option on mine, just to let you guys know.

TIA

Nice looking replica wheels! No alignment needed but if you lower with front lowering springs then go get it aligned.

Where'd you get your wheels and do you know if they sell center caps for those seperately?

Thanks TQ2K...boy, is it that obvious that its a replica? or you're just have that good eye that you can tell...either way...oh, we're from the same country...wooohoo!

JV...i got it from O.E. Wheels in Florida. I actually saw both 19" from Wheels and Caps and these 20" from O.E. Wheels and I opted for the 20's so I didn't have to lower the ride. The caps came with the rims. Which are aftermarket made by them i believe but of course fits perfectly.

Although I had original caps from BMW and it somehow doesn't fit, either the opening is too small on the rim and the trim that holds the BMW logo somewhat bulges from a few sides. They are on Ebay if you search for X5 rims, make sure you view the ones that says 20's not the 19's.

Mabuhay pare!

You should really consider lowering as it would make the stance look better.

Look up our kababayan Eduard "Andaya", he's just in San Jose...

As for spring you can get the front Eibach or H&R lowering springs. The eibach's ride feel is so close to stock and lowers about 1" while the H&R's lower the ride height about 1.5" with a stiffer ride but more precise handling.. For the rears if you have the self-leveling suspension, you can bring it to the dealer to have it lowered via DIS.

Nice, I'd say lower it

Do most dealers lower the suspension via DIS? I have a 4.8is with full air suspension. I would like to lower it a bit, not much. Maybe to the level of the suspension at its lowest setting.
