Need some quick help

I just sent my x5 in to get checked up, and its and I have the cpo and maintance warranty, and now i find out that the front control arm and brushings need to be changed and thats 770 dollars, also the seal around the door is cracking and they said to replace that its gonna cost me 350. How come none of this is covered, what should i do?

It is not covered under CPO warranty, read the fine print. "All wear and tear items as defined in The Certified Pre-Owned BMW Protection Plan Consumer Information Statement (including all suspension parts and components)."

I got conned by the damn salesman then... he told me that the cpo covers major things( not wear and tear), and the maintance covers wear and tear items, what the hell. sorry for the rant put this is so useless.

Ok "It is not covered under CPO warranty" but wouldn't it be covered under the maintaince warranty. Sounds to me like this is a wear and tear issue and Technomage should check his maintaince warranty fine print for coverage of these repairs. By the way Technomage, what Maintaince warranty do you have?

The cost of the seal around the door sound high and I would first try spraying it with some silicon.

Sorry about that. Let me ask again. What company do you have you maintance agreement with?. Drag it out and go over it. See if those items are excluded. If not i would be telling the dealer to show me where it say's it's not covered. You gotta do your homework otherwise they will make up their own rules.

so let me get this straight...if i got my car used and it is a 2003 with 22,000+ miles...that is still covered under warranty right?

what happened to all these TV ads and Radio ads I keep hearing about not worrying about brakes or anything with wear and tear as long as it is within the 4 year 50,000 mile warranty, BMW will replace for free? Is that bogus then?

i have to know because i already made an appointment with a local dealer about my brake squeaking and some minor stuff that i'm hoping is covered under warranty...but brakes is my main concern because i know that costs an arm and a leg.

if it is not covered...i might as well go to a BMW mechanic/shop and use aftermarket stuff if i was going to spend the same or even more.
